Ranikhet-Corbett-Mussoorie TourDestination : Delhi – Ranikhet – Nainital – Corbett – Mussoorie – Delhi Day 01 : Delhi Arrive in Delhi, after breakfast proceed for full day city tour of Old and New Delhi, visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghats, Lotas Temple, Laxmi Narayan Mandir, India Gate, President House. Qutub Minar etc. Overnight at hotel. Day 02 : Delhi - Ranikhet (360 kms) Next morning proceed to Ranikhet, which is located at an altitude of 1829 meters. Arrive in Ranikhet and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Ranikhet. Day 03 : Ranikhet Surrounded by lush green meadows, towering mountains and spectacular views, the hill resort of Ranikhet is high up in the Kumaon Hills at an altitude of nearly 6,000 ft. Though, today, it is predominantly a cantonment town, home to the Indian Army's Kumaon Regiment, it remains a popular tourist destination, known for clean and tranquil environs. Ranikhet, or Queen's Field, is believed to have been named after Rani Padmini, who visited this place and was so enamoured by its natural beauty that her husband, Raja Sukherdev, built a palace for her there. Although there is no evidence of a palace ever being erected here, the name lived on, as did the tiny hill station's allure. Day 04 : Ranikhet – Nainital This morning depart for Nainital (65 km away). Arrive in Nainital and check-in at hotel. Day at leisure, boating on the lake in the evening and leisurely walk through the Mall area. Overnight in Nainital. (Nainital was discovered by an Englishman named P. Barron in 1839. The glorious gem-like lake and the virgin hills appealed to him so strongly that he left a flourishing sugar business to settle here. And so it began. First the holidaying English then the Indian maharajas and then the Indian public. Nainital has never looked back as a summer retreat since. The headquarters of the district by the same name; Nainital is the largest and most popular hill-station of the Kumaon region.) Day 05 : Nainital This morning you will proceed for sightseeing trip of Nainital. Naina Devi Temple, St. John in the Wilderness, Snow-View, Cheena (Naina or China) Peak, Governor’s House and Sat Tal are some of the must-visit sightseeing places in Nainital. You may opt for rock climbing / mountain biking on your Best of Uttaranchal Tour. Overnight in Nainital. Day 06 : Nainital – Corbett This morning drive to Corbett. Jim Corbett National Park will take you closer to nature. Transfer to the hotel/resort. Later explore the dense forests of Corbett on game-viewing drive. Overnight at the hotel/resort. (Corbett is most renowned for sightings of the tiger, and large herds of elephants on the char grassland along the river. Apart from that you can see leopard, chital, barking deer, ghoral, sambar, wild boar, jungle cat, sloth bear and monkeys. You could also find the gharial and the marsh crocodile sunning alongside the river Ramganga). Day 07 : Corbett (Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary) The 300 sq.mt. Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary shares its boundaries with the Jim Corbett National Park. The Sanctuary is named after the Sonanadi river, an important tributary of the Ramganga, which winds its way through the sanctuary from the north-westerly direction and flows into the Ramganga reservoir. The Halduparao Forest Rest House which comes under the Sonanadi Sanctuary is a 100 year old building and is known for its beautiful, quiet riverside location. Located between the Palain and Sonanadi river just before they empty out into the Ramganga reservoir, Haldiparao is an extremely good place to watch large herds of wild elephants from close quarters when they come to the river bed during summer. Day 08 : Corbett – Mussoorie (210 kms) This morning proceed to Mussoorie, the Queen of the Hills. The place is known for its scenic beauty. Arrive in Mussoorie and transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure or take a leisurely walk around the Mall area. Overnight in Mussoorie. Day 09 : Mussoorie Proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour to visit the Kempty Fall, Gun Hill, Municipal Gardens and other tourist attractions of Mussoorie. Then go for shopping. Overnight in Mussoorie. (Mussoorie, The lifeline of the hill resort of Mussoorie is undoubted ably the Mall. The Mall besides the series of shops offers wondrous vistas of the surrounding hills and the Doon Valley below. You must be at the Mall while in Mussoorie especially as the evening falls. The tourists come together to enjoy the spectacular sunset. The sunset is followed by the view of the twinkling lights that shine one by one in the valley below. You just can't skip the Kulri Bazaar and the Library Chowk of the Mall. The Kulri Bazaar offers several items of Indian fare). Day 10 : Mussoorie - Delhi (260 kms) Leave for Delhi, departure from railway station/airport. |
