Valley's of the Indus and ZanskarPlaces to See : Delhi - Leh - Uletokpo - Kargil - Rangdum - Padum - Barden - Stongde - Kargil - Saspo - Leh - Delhi The northern most region of India in the upper Himalayan belt which is mini Tibet having Monasteries and scenic beauty. Best time of the year to visit the places here is July till September.  Day 01 : Arrive Delhi Arrival at Delhi by the early morning International flight. Am. city sightseeing of Old Delhi and New Delhi Day 02 : Delhi - Leh Early morning transfer to the airport to connect flight for Leh. visit the King's Palace & a walk through the fields up to Shankar Monestary. Day 03 : Leh - Stakhna - Thikse - Shey - Stok - Leh Morning visit the Stakhna, Thikse Monestary, visit the King's castle in Shey. Later visit the relief rock in and then the Palace in Stok. Day 04 : Leh - Hemis - Traktok - Chemre - Leh Trip to the Monestary of Hemis. Drive back to Leh en route visiting Thakthak and Chemre. Day 05 : Leh - Spitok - Phiyang - Leh Visit to the Spitok Monestary and then drive to see the Phiyang Monestary. Day 06 : Leh - Basgo - Likir - Uletokpo Drive to Uletokpo enroute visiting the Basgo castle and the Likir Monestary. Also visit the Monk School near Likir. Overnight stay in Uletokpo in camps. Day 07 : Saspol - Lamayuru - Mulbekh - Kargil  Drive to Kargil en route visiting Lamayuru Monestary, the Kali temple, the Lion temple with its cave for meditation. Drive to Kargil is from the route which is over the Namika La and Fotu La. Also see the relief rock slightly before Mulbekh. Day 08 : Kargil - Rangdum Morning drive to Rangdum Gompa. Day 09 : Rangdum - Padum Drive to Padum en route visiting the Rangdum Gompa. Also stop at Dodatal. Day 10 : Padum Day at leisure to walk in the surroundings of Padum to see the Zanskar. Day 11 : Padum - Karsha - Padum Morning visit to the Karsha Monestary and return to Padum. Day 12 : Padum - Barden - Padum Visit the Barden Monestary in the Lung - Nak valley and some small monasteries in Gokhang. Day 13 : Padum - Stongde - Padum Morning drive to Stongde Monestary. Day 14 : Padum - Rangdum Morning drive to Rangdum en route visiting Sani Gompa. Day 15 : Rangdum - Kargil Drive back to Kargil. Day 16 : Kargil - Alchi - Saspol Drive to Saspol. Visit the other side of the river Indus after the Mani walls. Also visit the Alchi Monestary and the huge statue of Avalokiteshwar. Undertake a walk through the village. Day 17 : Uletokpo - Leh  Morning visit the Rhizong by walk and then drive to Leh. Day 18 : Leh - Delhi Morning transfer to the airport to connect flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi transfer to the Hotel. Day at leisure. Day 19 : Leave Delhi Morning in time transfer to the International airport to connect flight back home. |
