While the picturesque valleys of Kullu, Kinnaur and Kangra are a riot of colors, in marked contrast the barren terrain of Lahaul & Spiti have a stunning lunar landscape like beauty. For the visitor there are superb locations for relaxing and sight seeing.
1) Indrahar Pass Trek
This trek from Mcleodganj to Chamba offers one the opportunity to have a close look at the Pir Panjal and Dhaula Dhar mountain ranges. A trek of moderate difficulty the path tread takes you through some dense Deodar & Rhododendron forests, one also comes on to the trail of the ancient Gaadi Shepherds who take their frock from the Chamba Valley to the glades of Lahul & Spiti.
2) Kishtwar Via Sach Pass Trek
This trek is amongst the best in the Himachal mountains. The trail takes you through lush green fields, remote villages and virgin forests. This trek passes through the dense Deodar forests of Khajjiar. The trail takes you through some of the most spectacular landscape one can ever hope to see.
3) Pin Parvati Trek
The Pin Parvati valley of Spiti is considered the most beautiful in the region. The trek route crossing over from the Kullu valley takes you through most spectacular landscapes, and provides an experience to remember for life. The trek begins at Manikaran and winds along the raging Parvati River till the glaciated Pin-Parvati Pass (4900m).
4) Dalhousie Manali Via Keylong
This trekking route is the one that crosses Kungti Pass, at an awesome altitude of 5,040m. From Hadsar, an hour by bus from Bharmour, the path follows the River Budhil for 12-km to Kugti, known for fine Yak milk and curds.
