Munsiyari Milam Trek Trek to Milam Glacier is amongst the best of treks in this region, taking you through some of the remotest areas with breathtaking panorama. On reaching the glacier, one is splendored by the majestic view of Mt.Trishul (7070m) which stands tall dwarfing everything in the vicinity. The Himalayan region of Kumaon is a house of natural beauty, protected from the onslaught of the outside world and well conserved, making this region a great retreat for the lovers of nature. Destination: Delhi-Almora-Munsiyari-Rilkot-Panchu-Milam-Nitwal Thaur-Milam-Burphu-Rilkot-Munsiyari-Almora-Delhi Duration: 17 nights/18 days Day 1: Delhi Arrive Delhi and later transfer to the hotel. Overnight in hotel. Day 2: Delhi-Almora Next morning drive to the foothills of Almora. Day free for leisure. Overnight in hotel. Day 3: Almora-Munsiyari Take on your drive towards the spectacular mountain countryside of Kumaon, viewing the ancient temple complexes. Later reach Munsiyari (2290m), a small town amidst heavenly environment. Overnight in Guest House. Day 4: Munsiyari Day for rest and other leisure activities. Overnight in Guest House. Day 5: Munsiyari-Rilkot Drive by car towards the road head at Bog Udyar; later start your trek to village Rilkot (3130m). Overnight in tents. Day 6: Rilkot-Panchu Today trek along the river Gori Ganga upto Panchu. Overnight camp. Day 7: Panchu-Milam Trek to Milam (3420m), place surrounded by glaciers and high mountain peaks. Overnight in tents. Day 8: Milam Day to rest and other outdoor activities. Overnight in tents. Day 9: Milam-Nitwal Thaur From Milam trek towards Nitwal Thaur. Overnight camp. Day 10: Suraj Kund Excursion Continue along the glacier to the point over the glacier (4242m) to reach the beautiful Suraj Kund, which lies at the base of the Tirsul peak (7070m), also view the giant peaks from here. Overnight camp. Day 11: Nitwal Thaur-Milam  Today return back to village Milam. Overnight in tents. Day 12: Milam-Burphu From Milam descend towards village Burphu. Overnight in tents. Day 13: Burphu Take a day to rest. Overnight in tents. Day 14: Burphu-Rilkot Continue descending towards Rilkot. Overnight in tents. Day 15: Rilkot-Bog Udiyar-Munsiyari Retrace the route to the road head at Bog Udiyar and later drive back to Munsiyari. Overnight in tents. Day 16: Munsiyari-Almora After breakfast, drive back to Almora. Overnight in hotel. Day 17: Almora-Delhi This morning after breakfast, drive back towards Delhi. Later transfer to the hotel. Overnight in hotel. Day 18: Delhi Day free for rest and later transfer to the airport. |
